Thank you for choosing the Leverage WordPress Theme. The purpose of this documentation is to help you make the most of what this product offers.

If you have not yet purchased your license or need more licenses, click on the Buy Now button above. If you have questions and need help, send us a message using the contact form here.

First Steps

To install this theme you must have a working version of WordPress already installed. If you need help installing WordPress, follow the instructions in WordPress Codex. Below are all the useful links for WordPress information.

Server Requirements

You must be running WordPress 5.0 or higher, PHP 7.0 or greater, and MySQL 5 or greater on your server. We have tested it on Linux, Mac and Windows. Below is a list of items you should ensure your host can comply with.

  • Check to ensure that your web host has the minimum requirements to run WordPress.
    Always make sure they are running the latest version of WordPress.
    You can download the latest release of WordPress from the official WordPress website.
    Always create secure passwords for FTP and Databases.

PHP Requirements

Many issues you may run into such as white screen, demo content fails when importing, empty page content, theme not being saved and other similar issues are all related to low PHP configuration limits. The solution is to increase the PHP limits. You can do this on your own, or contact your hosting provider and ask them to increase those limits to a minimum of the following:

max_execution_time 120
memory_limit 128M
post_max_size 64M
upload_max_filesize 64M
max_input_time 60

Package

Download Theme files from ThemeForest by going to the downloads tab and finding the Leverage.

Check the files contained in the package:

  • Licensing:

    This folder contains the terms and conditions of the license under which Leverage is distributed and some information on licensing of various parts of the theme in a separate file.

  • Plugins:

    In this folder are the required Leverage plugins. Installation is optional. We recommend that you install to take advantage of all available features.

  • leverage.zip:

    This is the main file that you will need to upload for your WordPress installation.

  • leverage-child.zip:

    This is a file for implementing a child theme. Recommended for advanced users only.

Installation

  1. From the dashboard go to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme;
  2. Click on Choose File and select leverage.zip;
  3. Click on Install Now.

Updating

  1. Click here to generate an Envato API token;
  2. Give your token a name, agree to the terms and click on the Create Token button;
  3. Copy the generated token;
  4. From the dashboard go to Envato Market Plugin and paste your token in the Token line;
  5. Save the changes.
  6. Go to Appearance > Themes and see if there is any updates.

Installing Required Plugins

Leverage requires a set of core and additional plugins to function correctly. A plugin is an additional component that offers functionality and features beyond a typical WordPress installation. Without them, most of its functionality is not available. After installing the theme you will be prompted to install the required plugins at the top of your dashboard.

  1. From the dashboard go to Appearance > Install Plugins;
  2. Toggle all the required plugins and hint Install;
  3. The last step will be activating the plugins.

Creating a Menu

To create a menu for your site, do the following:

  1. From the dashboard go to Appearance > Menus;
  2. On the left, find the list section that starts with pages;
  3. Check the checkbox of every element you want to have in your menu;
  4. Click on Add to Menu;
  5. Set display location in menu settings as Primary and click on Save Menu button.

The Theme generates IDs for each section on the page.

Example:

#about-1, #about-2, #about-3, #service-1, #team-1, #custom-1, #custom-2

Add custom links to your menu with the desired label and as a URL, inform the section you want.

One Click Demo Import

To import a demo for your site, do the following:

  1. From the dashboard go to Appearance > Import Demo Data;
  2. Choose the Demo you want to import and click on Import followed by "Yes. Import!";
  3. Wait for the import to complete and the Demo you chose will be set as your Home Page.
Importing the demo will replace your Design & Colors settings. When importing One-Page Demos, an example menu will be set. It is recommend that you configure a Menu, the Footer Section and General Settings (Forms and Others) regardless of the import of the demo.
You can also import the Demo named "Inner Pages" and all available Inner Pages will be imported and the "Our Blog" page will be set as your posts page.

Leverage does not need third party plugins like "Contact Form 7" or similar. Everything was developed from scratch and we believe that your experience will be better when creating your own form and footer using the theme settings.
